What Constitutes a Contract? 63 ALBANY L.J. 411 (1901)

Abstract

The significance of the term " contract," as employed in article I, Section 10 of the Constitution of the United States which provides that no State shall pass any law impairing the obligation of contracts, seems at first blush, so obvious, that a discussion of its real import would be declared more likely to confuse than to enlighten.
