The Hearsay Rule and Its Exceptions, 40 Minnesota Law Review 455 (1956)
Article VIII of the Uniform Rules of Evidence deals with hearsay.
Rule 63 states a general policy of exclusion which is then
qualified by thirty-one subsections containing exceptions. This rule
follows Wigmore in defining hearsay as a "statement which is
made other than by a witness while testifying at the hearing offered
to prove the truth of the matter stated."
